Community Spirit Church is committed to keeping Montrose beautiful by organizing our annual spring road cleanup. It’s a great way to show our love for the environment and do our part in preserving its beauty. Every year since our inception in 2013, we come together as a congregation, put on gloves, grab garbage bags, and start removing litter and debris from our two-mile stretch of Spring Creek Road. It’s a fantastic way to rejuvenate the earth and strengthen our bonds as a community. We believe in being responsible stewards of the planet and doing our part to care for the world God has blessed us with.

After the cleanup, we will reward ourselves with refreshments and lively conversation. We always welcome new faces, so bring a friend along and spend a lovely spring afternoon with us.

We split up into four teams that take a one-mile stretch on one side of the road. When each team is finished with their one-mile assignment, we provide a ride back to Loncar Park, so nobody has to walk more than a mile.

We prioritize your safety while you pick up litter along Spring Creek Road. Each participant receives a brightly colored vest and is encouraged to stay alert to their surroundings. Most drivers tend to slow down when they see us alongside the road, and in many areas, there’s a wide shoulder that keeps us safely separated from the passing vehicles.

Come and hang out with us at Loncar Park! We would be delighted to have you join us for some refreshing drinks and good company, even if you’re unable to assist us with the road cleanup. You are welcome to arrive at any time, but the refreshments will probably not be available until after 3:30 pm. We hope to see you there!

In case of unfavorable weather conditions like rain or snow, we make sure to inform all the participants of the road cleanups about the cancellation or rescheduling. This is usually by email or phone calls. We also try to post it on our Facebook page.
