Single-use plastics, including plastic bags, beverage bottles, straws, cutlery, and food containers, are designed for a short lifespan, meant to be used once and then thrown away. This convenience comes at a significant cost to our environment, contributing to pollution and waste accumulation in our ecosystems.
Join us on Saturday, April 26th, for an inspiring Earth Week event titled “Rethinking Plastics.” Together, we’ll explore affordable alternatives to single-use plastics as a step toward making a positive impact on our environment.
The workshop starts at 11:00 AM in the Hispanic Affairs Project community room (504 N. 1st Street) and promises an interactive experience. You can look forward to a thought-provoking short film, educational displays, and engaging discussions. If you’ve discovered earth-friendly ideas and products that work for you, we encourage you to share them with the group. Your insights could make a real difference!
Refreshments will be provided, and best of all, this event is free and open to everyone! And the first 50 attendees will receive a compostable bag filled with eco-friendly products to use at home.
Don’t miss this chance to learn, connect, and contribute to a greener future.
