Community Spirit Church (UCC)

Our faith is 2000 years old. Our thinking is not.

We believe there's no other church in our area quite like us — we are progressive, open to the Spirit, and aching to make a difference in the world.

These bold claims and commitments are what make us a distinctive and compelling faith community:

Love wins.
Hate, fear, or injustice don't get the last word — God's love does. Always.

This world matters.
The afterlife can wait — love and care for all creation pleases God now.

Bring your brain.
Keen, questioning minds are not a threat to faith — they enrich it.

We are spiritual and religious.
In our faith community, scripture and tradition come alive —
as does our connection to God.

We're free to be.
Be fully yourself here — you are God's unique gift to us.

Effective March 1, 2018, we now gather in the Chipeta Room at the Ute Indian Museum, located at 17253 Chipeta Road in Montrose.  To get there, head south on SR-550 past the Target/JC Penney shopping center.   Stay in the right lane and turn right onto Chipeta Road.  There is ample parking and the building is fully accessible.  You can click here for a map and driving directions.

Our weekly Sunday worship service begins at 11:00 AM and lasts for about an hour.  Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month and our table is open to everyone.  Our atmosphere is relaxed (no dress code) and you are invited to come as you are.  There is always friendly conversation and usually some tasty refreshments following the service.

No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, you are always welcome with us.
