Our Inreach/Outreach Ministry

Inreach focuses on ways that we can take care of one another at Community Spirit UCC, including a birthday card ministry, meals for shut-ins, potlucks, and other opportunities to get to know each other better and grow in our faith.

Outreach addresses ways that we can serve the community, such as road cleanups, food bank collections, and other projects. In the spirit of learning “the habit of giving,” we try to provide at least one opportunity each month for our congregation to participate in an outreach project that improves the lives of others.

This is a very active committee that meets for lunch on the third Friday of each month, usually at Camp Robber. The meetings start promptly at 11:30 AM and usually wrap up by 1:00 PM. Be sure to check our calendar and newsletter for particular details each month.

Here are some photos from our bi-annual road cleanup. It was a beautiful fall day when we gathered at Loncar Park for refreshments and fellowship after our good work:

Here are just some of the ways in which we are changing the world for good!

  • Continuously enhancing our Green Church Initiative
  • Hosting and participating in events to support the LGBTQ+ community
  • Showing up at rallies and protests to support issues we care about
  • Providing microloans on Kiva.org to help fund a variety of projects and needs across over 80 countries
  • Holding road cleanups twice a year
  • Creating hygiene kits for the local homeless shelter
  • Partnering with the Hispanic Affairs Project
  • Partnering with the Sharing Ministries Food Bank
