We’re taking to the streets of Grand Junction again this year to show our support for the LBGTQIA+ community and their allies as we march together in the 10th annual Colorado West Pride Parade. We’ll have our usual rainbow-outlined banner, as well as a new one that says, “You are not alone. We stand with you.”
Participating in the parade is one way we can let the Western Slope LGBTQIA+ community know that there is support, affirmation, and advocacy coming from beyond Grand Junction—and from a church to boot!
The parade begins at noon. Those marching are asked to be in the staging area by 11:00 AM. (This information will come soon.) If marching isn’t your thing, then come along and find a shady spot on Main Street to cheer the entries as we all pass by.
Although Community Spirit won’t be hosting a booth this year, there WILL be booths and a family-friendly after-party along Main Street for anyone wanting to continue with the fun. (Food trucks are typically on site, but if you don’t want to take any chances, bring a substantial snack or lunch.)
If you want to carpool, meet at AutoZone at 9:15 AM (corner of Main and Townsend). We’ll depart by 9:30 AM to reach the staging area at the required time.
Reach out to Pastor Karen or Mary Loncar with questions or concerns.
